Apartment 526

Scope: Renter-friendly, second-hand friendly, and pet-friendly design guidance, including furniture selections, a cohesive color palette, and shoppable links.

For this young couple, we created a list of everyday essentials alongside a thoughtful plan for slowly collecting key pieces over time, keeping the space both budget-conscious and intentional. The approach balanced practical, immediate solutions with room to evolve—mixing accessible finds with future investment pieces that can move with them wherever they land next.

For now, a Facebook Marketplace sofa anchors the living room until their dreamy baby-blue velvet sofa eventually finds its way home. In the meantime, the space is designed to feel warm, layered, and lived-in—perfect for curling up with a book, hosting a few friends, or simply lounging beneath the floor-to-ceiling windows while taking in the Shaw/Howard view at the end of the day.

Bright living room with a large light blue sofa, a wooden dining table with three black chairs, a hanging paper lantern, potted plants, a shelf of books, and wall art including a painting, a photo, and a black panther illustration.
A neatly made bed with a brown comforter, two matching pillows, and a blue throw pillow, in a bedroom with white curtains, wooden nightstands with lamps, books, and candles, a framed floral artwork above the bed, and sunlight streaming through the window.
Floor plan of an apartment with a kitchen, bathroom, two closets, a mechanical room, a workspace, a bedroom with a large bed, a small balcony with outdoor furniture and plants.
